Stuart reached out to me to help him and his mom Doris sell the family home located at 1206 Queen St.
When I met both of them, it was like talking to family.
The decision to sell the family home was a difficult one.
Doris' husband is in a residence and she wasn't able to take care of the home anymore.
She too had to find another place to live.
Somewhere where she wouldn't have to worry about a thing.
I understood the situation.
I had gone through it with both my parents.
Stuart who is an only child was responsible for making sure the home was ready for sale.
They had a lot to do.
We made a plan to make sure Doris knew where she would end up living.
Once that was settled, they got to work to clean, get rid and sell things.
Doris and her husband owned the home since 1974.
You can imagine how much stuff they had accumulated.
I met them back in February and we didn't list the home until May.
They had help from family.
They also had the help of Habitat for Humanity which has a wonderful program to help empty the last things that remained in the house.
The house was finally empty and we listed the home at a higher price just to test the market.
We soon realized we needed to bring it down since the home did require some updating.
As soon as we did that, we received 2 offers and one of them was very appealing and it sold.
I am so pleased that Stuart and Doris don't have that to worry about anymore.
"A great job! We are very grateful for all you did to help us" Stuart
